- What happens when the assessment is complete? You've built a strong understanding of the status quo and you're ready to make change. The next and most technically complex step is designing equity interventions that can put all of your understanding to good use, shifting the equity outcomes of the status quo towards something better. But what might this work look like, and what might it entail? Let me share a story. I worked once with a large organization looking to upskill all of their employees on foundational diversity, equity, and inclusion knowledge. Numerous assessments had revealed equity and inclusion gaps across the organization, and lack of awareness and knowledge was one of the driving causes of these gaps. The intervention that leaders landed on was a broad general purpose DEI training to set a baseline understanding for employees at every level of seniority.
