From the course: Adopting Agile: Strategies for Successful Implementation

Why Agile projects?

Blockbuster was a company that would rent out videos, video games, VHS. If you're old enough to know what those are at this point, as you're watching this. And they were all across the country in all different cities as technology changed and became more about getting products directly to consumers without having a specific shop or even as it developed further and became, how can I download things on the Internet? Blockbuster didn't make those adaptations, and because of it they were knocked out of business. Now, if Blockbuster had been a more agile organization, they may have been more capable of saying These are the changes that we need to make to fill our customers needs with how technology is adapting. So Agile allows you to have that opportunity to say, this is what's working for us or This is what's not working for us. And to be able to make those changes, to be able to continue to succeed as a team and an organization. Agile implementation allows you to guarantee a more successful project because it allows you to adapt as you go. It allows you to take time to recognize, Hey, this didn't go ideally for me. I can do this better next time. I can improve upon this for next time. And when we have that opportunity to improve, it essentially eliminates the chance of failure, because we're always changing, always adapting, and we're always growing. My name is Dylan Jensen. I am an Agile coach with experience in multiple different industries. I help organizations to view Agile as more than just changes in terminology as a more than just a buzzword. I help them implement different processes, different ways of doing Agile so that they can succeed. In this course you will learn about how to communicate more clearly around Agile, how to be effective as an Agile leader, and how to accept the fact that things may not always go ideally and how you can adapt to those changes. So if you're ready to learn more about Agile and how to implement work in a more agile manner and to be able to deliver more efficiently, let's get started.
