Lean method
- [Instructor] The Lean Method for development was adapted from Lean manufacturing principles originally. Japan actually developed this process to begin rebuilding their country after World War II. Lean principles are some of the basis of what led us to Agile development eventually. So although this isn't really considered a modern framework for software development anymore, you do want to know a bit about this for the DevNet exam. It offers us some history and some insights into Agile development. First, let's talk about the primary considerations for Lean development. Beginning with the elimination of waste. Waste is anything that doesn't add value to the final product or to the customer. And so we obviously want to get rid of that. Waste can include things like extra features that are unneeded or certainly things like defects and bugs. Second is something called Just-in-Time. In production terms, this means that we don't create something until the customer is ready to buy it…
