Thus, understanding the hierarchy is the best way to think about resources and services. It looks like this. Cloud has many cloud resources and cloud resources have many cloud services. Tools that manage and govern cloud resources differ from those that manage cloud services. These tools can govern cloud resources like storage, compute, and databases. Some resource governance tools such as just storage govern a specific resource type. There are two basic categories of cloud resource governance tools. Native tools are tools that just support a specific cloud provider, for instance, Amazon Web Services CloudFormation.
