Understanding your cloud governance requirements

- [Narrator] Understanding your requirements. Picking the right governance approach in tooling is like making any other important decision. What's crucial here is that you understand the concepts of each step and can align them with your enterprise cloud requirements. There is no one size fits all solution to this. Let's go through the approach, including finding the right tools, testing cloud governance, and moving to cloud governance operations. Finding the right tools means translating our governance requirements into the proper tooling. Remember that there's often more than one type of tool and you'll end up with one or more required resources, services, security, and cost governance tools. Your specific requirements determine what governance tools you leverage. Testing cloud governance tooling means that we're taking our specific tool solutions and testing the technology in terms of its ability to meet the previously determined business requirements. Here we focus on function, performance, and operational reliability, as well as how well the tools keep up with the enterprise's standard. As you may have guessed, cloud governance operations are how we operate the tools in an ongoing manner. This largely determines the success of the government system since people often evaluate how the system runs over a long period of time, not just the first day. Thus, this needs special planning and sufficient resources allocated to this purpose.
