- So we showed you how to use Excel filters. They're really key to zeroing in on quick answers you need from your data. No more will you be dazed or inundated with data. Instead, you'll just hone in on exactly what you need with filters. First, we showed you the basic concepts, like how to filter text, dates, and numbers. Then we showed you how to refine your filters by using advanced filters. We also showed you some tips like how to use slicers, power query, and how to do keyboard shortcuts for filters. But the interesting thing is once you master filters, the next step up in the skills ladder is to learn Excel PivotTables.
