- We all love when paying clients come directly to us looking for our help, but if you ask any freelancer, they'll tell you about a time they went through a cash flow crunch or a dry spell. Too often we expect clients will just come to us, and when they don't, we panic. Before you ever get to that point, you can do a couple things every day to find new clients and keep the top of your sales funnel full, and it all comes down to one thing. Starting more conversations. The first tactic I recommend is meeting more people out in the real world. Remember, sales are built on relationships, and relationships are personal. The more that you meet people in real life, the easier it is to build a personal relationship and, ultimately, a paying client. You can meet people at networking events, coffee shops, really anywhere. So the best idea would be to figure out where your target clients tend to hang out and go there.
