- [Instructor] There are various indicators that may reveal a phishing attempt. Here are some common indicators that an email might be a phishing attempt. The most obvious indicator is when they request personal information. The message may ask you to provide personal or sensitive information, such as your login credentials, Social Security number, or credit card details. Another form of this is unusual requests. The message may contain requests that seem unusual or out of the ordinary, such as asking you to transfer money to a new account. Another example is when someone DMs you on social media and asks you to Cash App them because they are in a crisis. These folks didn't ask you for any other information, but they directly asked you for money. In this scenario, it is best to reach out to them via phone or another communication channel.
