- You might be asking, where has the importance of communication in the context of lean been referenced? The following sources will help answer this question. "Gemba Kaizen" by Masaaki Imai was one of my first reads about continuous improvement. Imai-san, who worked directly with Toyota's mastermind Taiichi Ohno, addressed communication when he wrote, "Quality begins when everybody in the organization commits to never sending rejects or imperfect information to the next process."
