What runs over IP?
- [Presenter] The internet protocol is the protocol that we use to drive data from one part of the country or one part of the world to another such as from your computer up to say Cloud storage or maybe an email to another person. So what runs on top of the internet protocol? We have our car, the internet protocol is our car. It drives, but who drives it? Well, we have lots of different drivers. We have TCP, UDP, SPX, all these different protocols. TCP stands for Transmission Control Protocol and it is the most popular type of protocol that's being used. When you go shopping, it uses TCP. When you go to send an email it's going to use TCP for web mail and UDP is the second most popular. It stands for user datagram protocol. And what it does is it sends off packets but it does so in an unsecured and connection lists manner. So you're going to see this used in a lot of gaming servers.
