Solution: Show TCP and UDP packets in a traffic analyzer
(upbeat music) - [Instructor] To get started you'll need to download, install and open Wireshark. This is the Wireshark website. Once installed reboot your computer and open the Wireshark program. The first objective in this challenge, is to use the program to capture and analyze the traffic, that moves through your local network. You can do this from the capture tab. Click capture and options to choose a network. I'll choose Wi-Fi. When you're ready, click start. Let that run for a few minutes to capture the packets running through your network. The next part of the challenge is to show that UDP packets contain more information than TCP packets. First, let's stop the capture. Now let's sort by protocol. I'll scroll down to UDP first. If you look at the information here, you'll see some entries for LEN and not much else. You'll see some IP addressing information. But let's scroll up to TCP. When we look at TCP,…
