What you should know
- [Instructor] This course covers how data packets are created and how they move from point A to point B through local and remote networks. Although we start with the basics and discuss the differences between the various types of networks and network hardware and we explain about IP addressing, MAC addresses, and so on, there's still a few things you need to have and know before starting this course. You'll need a basic understanding of how local area networks are configured and set up. If you have experience with a home network, that'll do. You'll need access to a physical router in a local area network as well. Look at that router and write down the information on the side or bottom of it before starting. This information will allow you to log into the router to view the nodes on it. It's also best if you have experience with Windows Defender Firewall and other applications that ship with Windows 10 such as Remote Desktop. Finally, you'll need a Windows 10 computer that you can install applications on like Wireshark, as well as administrator access to the command line. When you're ready, I'm ready. Let's get started.
