Flex timing with track groups
- In the previous movie, we looked at how to use Flex Time on a single audio track. But Flex Time is super powerful for drums. In this movie, I want to show you how you can group drums together and keep them phase accurate as you Flex Time them. So, I'm going to go ahead and play this song. And notice when I'm playing it, that the tempo of the project is at a generic 120. It's actually not in time with the performance. I can tell just by looking at the bars and the beats, that that doesn't correspond to the actual tempo of the drums. So, the first step here would be to find out a ballpark tempo just about where these drums are. Now, they're played by a human drummer in a band like sessions. So, the tempo probably isn't perfectly consistent. And I happen to know that when this tracking went down, there was no click track. So, my goal in the end is to use Flex to group the drums together and Flex to make it on the grid, but somewhere around the tempo that it was originally played. So…
