Seek unique collaborations
- How could an unconventional partnership completely transform your business? Toshiba and UPS did it. They partnered to train UPS employees to fix Toshiba computers at the distribution hub rather than sending them back to Toshiba, and the result dramatically reduced service times. Big innovations happen when companies embrace offbeat partnerships that they never would've considered before. Try it. Pick a product or service that you'd like to explore, but you lack the capabilities to really transform. Then consider partnerships completely within, adjacent, and beyond your own industry to make it happen. Nothing is off limits. So within. Identify anyone within your industry, even your competition, you could partner with. Adjacent. Identify people adjacent to your industry, like tech providers or vendors. And then beyond. Identify anyone in your space completely different than your current industry. Unique collaborations happen by giving you new expertise and opportunities you never would've considered before. They also encourage creative problem solving that sets you apart from the competition. Look at people beyond your industry to find new partners, and you'll unlock incredible fresh potential for growth.
