Right-hand C position

Right-hand C position

- Place your right hand in C position. To do this you'll place your right hand thumb on middle C and let your next four fingers fall consecutively over keys D, E, F, and G. Music is written on a staff. The staff has five lines and four spaces. The treble clef sign is used on the treble staff. The treble clef is sometimes called the G clef because the sign looks like a G and wraps around the line that G is written on. You can see the notes written on the staff that represent the names of the keys you will play in right hand C position. Middle C is written on a short line below the staff called a ledger line. D is written in the space below the staff. Each next higher note is written on the next higher line or space. Right hand warm-up will help you learn the keys on the staff in C position. I'll play these for you and I'll name the notes as I play. C, D, E, F, G, C, D, E, F, G, G, F, E, D, C, G, F, E, D, C, C, D, E, F, G, G, F, E, D, C.
