- Now we come to one of my favorite techniques with red people, and this is the choice of two options. Sometimes called a choice of evils. Although they don't have to be bad choices, it could be a choice between two good choices. Now, let me give you an example of this. I had a customer who had booked me to do a day of assertiveness training and it was all fine. It was in the diary. And then I got this phone call where they said, we're really sorry, Chris, but we don't have enough people for your assertiveness date that's coming up. Would you mind if we canceled it? And I said to them, that's fine, no worries. I'll just use the day for something else. And I crossed it out of my diary. And then with about two weeks to go before the date, I got this email from the customer saying, great news, Chris, we've got 18 people for your course but the problem was, I'd already sold that day to someone else.
