When a look works, you stick with it. And Minnie Mouse’s distinctive red dress was working. Proving that even icons can use a refresh, however, news broke that the nearly 100-year-old character has added a pantsuit to her wardrobe, per CNN. (Her “full makeover” will be revealed in March to commemorate International Women’s Day.) Like all good fashion statements, the blue Stella McCartney-designed tuxedo is causing a stir — some love it, others have described the cartoon outfit as an attempt to "destroy fabrics of our society."
1. Minnie has already worn other outfits so it's not that big a deal.
2. This pantsuit looks like PJs to me so maybe this is a zoom pantsuit?
3. If they ditch the red dress they are dead! Women still wear dresses Disney! Don't ditch the dress!

OK I'm pretty fashion-challenged, but this write-up is great. First, a bit of a tempest in a teapot, but yeah, the pantsuit Minnie is wearing doesn't look like the "power suits" she mentions leaders wearing. Not sure I'd go with "frumpy", more like PJs. But if this distracts us from Neil Young vs. Joe Rogan, all the better. Their fight (and Minnie in a pantsuit) are both kinda silly.

I don't like this one bit. Why is a blue pantsuit more appropriate than a red dress for a woman? How is this "a symbol of progress and empowerment for a new generation" according to designer Stella McCartney?
I don't like it at all. Just another attempt to box women in a corner and steal the narrative of what looks like confidence, authority, influence.
"Pantsuits are a staple in female leaders' wardrobes, with politicians including former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and US Vice President Kamala Harris each having their own recognizable take on the style," the writer says.
Sure, if that's your style, go for it. The current VP rocks hers. But remember how Michelle Obama killed the bright colored sheath dress when she first became FLOTUS? Did that make her appear less confident because it was a dress?
As a former image consultant this just really irritates me. That blue polka dot pants suit is downright frumpy IMO and is a stealth attempt to steal our power and femininity. Seriously people?
What do you all think?

Not sure why people are upset about Minnie Mouse's chic new pantsuit, especially when Donald Duck is still roaming around the Disney parks with no pants on at all.
