The transaction is expired? Not in Italian Today's topic is English to Italian translation in the fintech field and we will talk about transactions. When you make an online payment, you'll be redirected to your internet banking and you'll need to provide your bank details. You have a limited amount of time to complete this operation and if you exceed it, the transaction will be considered "expired". In Italian the direct translation for "expired" is "scaduto/a". We also use this term in this specific context but not with the word "transaction" (transazione). We use instead the word "session" (sessione) that begins in the moment you login into your internet banking. Stumbling upon the linguistic delights of plural forms today! 🌎💡 Did you know? In English we have singular and plural, but people in Poland enjoy two plural forms! 🇵🇱 And it does not stop there! In Arabic, they take it six steps further with six different quantity groups! 😮🇸🇦 That's right, these include: zero, one, two, few, many, and "other". But wait, there's a twist! 🌀 The distribution of numbers across these groups varies from language to language. GameDiscoverCo just updated their "active Steam players by country" chart. And there are some interesting changes! Let's analyze it from a #localization perspective! No huge surprises in the first three languages to consider: Chinese, Russian and German. The fact that China overtook the U.S. may be related to Palworld's incredible popularity in China though. The next three languages are the ones that many publishers/developers may overlook. #BrazilianPortuguese, #Polish and #Turkish are the ones I'm talking about. With Poland climbing up in this ranking, and Brazil and Turkey solidifying their places, you cannot afford to overlook these three languages. The active players of these countries often rank above most European countries' player bases in such charts. The old localization advice of "just do FIGS and maybe add CJK if you have the budget" just does not cut it anymore. Developers and publishers always need to do their research before deciding on the best languages for their own game and genre. What do you think? So here's a live look at how this works. Pictured here, I chose my native language in Spanish, while the receiver responded in a few different languages. This was to test the product. The 1st language was English, Sophie said "Hey" (foreign language bottom) and showed up to me in a Latino version. She then switched her native language to French, typing "bonjour" (bottom) and instantly showed up to me as "beunos dias" the Spanish translation. Finally, she changed her native language to Italian, and it did the same thing. This app will revolutionize language translation like never seen before. The amount of time saved will be priceless, the amount of relationships gained will be unmatched, and we did this all for your convenience.
