But here's the thing: it's like asking "What's the internet good for?" back in the dial-up days. 😶🌫️ The truth is, that Web3 and crypto are in their awkward teenage phase. Remember the clunky browsers and pixelated graphics of the early internet? Yeah, that's us right now.✅ But just like the awkward kid who bloomed into the tech CEO, Web3 has incredible potential. Think of it as the internet remastered. A version where users own their data, creators get paid fairly, and censorship becomes a relic of the past. Imagine: • No more Big Tech gatekeepers: You control your data, your identity, your online experience. • Creators finally thriving: Artists, musicians, and everyone in between get rewarded directly for their work. • A fairer, more secure financial system: Decentralized finance offers alternatives to traditional banking, empowering individuals. These are just the first steps. We're talking self-driving cars for the internet, folks. Do we care? Or are we habituated and accepting this as the default? Or is it because we don't have any other option? Couldn't agree more with Irene's thought that users do care about social and financial capital and content. Until recently, #Web3 felt like a niche interest. But now, as mass adoption of Web3 technology quickly approaches, it’s becoming less of a vertical, spanning its wings across all industries, with everyone needing to get on board and up to speed. This paper by Kelsy Maguire is valuable read for all organisations working on designing digital solutions for delivery through the internet. The key isn’t just to focus on onboarding customers; it’s also about successfully equipping employees with the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in this decentralized era. Companies have invested so much in education, with a focus on trading, but they have not turned their attention to the portion of the workforce that remains unfamiliar with the technology that will be responsible for creating, facilitating, communicating, and operating Web3 products and services. Web3 is built around the idea of giving control to the people. We know that involving the opinion of your community can elongate the process of building your product, but people need to understand that they are part of your product and their decisions matter. What is the essence of being a decentralized protocol or building a blockchain product where you do not listen to the complaints of your users? In Web2, feedback is very important. It helps product managers improve the quality of the product, but we can't say the same for your Web3 business. Therefore, your marketing initiatives should be executed factoring in these checkpoints. 1. Ensure that your Web3 platforms and brands are easily accessible to people with different levels of technology literacy and access to online resources. 2. Decentralize Token/Asset Distribution. Do not concentrate digital assets distribution and voting rights in the hands of a wealthy few or early adopters but most loyal users. 3. Simplify the User Experience. A simple and steadily improving user experience can ensure mass adoption by people with diverse backgrounds. Do away with complex features and reduce transaction times.
