A small step for humanity, a significant one for myself! After a few years of silence, I'm reviving my blog. I do so with a post in which I outline my motivation behind writing "back then" and why I decided to start again. Additionally, I describe the technical details behind migrating a blog from a self-hosted Wordpress installation to the GitHub Pages-hosted Jekyll. Yesterday I watched Wordcamp 2024 a little. The idea is very interesting, and the implementation of interactive blocks in Gutenberg based on data attributes. It seems to work roughly like Vue.js or Alphine.js. Something like a built-in WP framework for Gutenberg blocks. Yes, of course, this complicates the life of developers, since they need to explore new processes, but it seems to me that the Wordpress community understands better than me how to improve and perfect this content management process. I will describe my experience when I try it.

WordPress is incredibly scalable, but even the best platforms can have unexpected bottlenecks. Recently, I encountered an interesting challenge on a site with over 500 reusable blocks. Did you know that all synced patterns (reusable blocks) are preloaded on the block edit screen? This can become problematic and introduce fragility, especially on sites with hundreds of these blocks. Luckily, WordPress offers flexibility with a filter to change this behavior. Check out my solution here: https://lnkd.in/gAWcdP-3
