Some hiring insights from Dubai ☀️ I recently joined the hiring process at Property Finder and thought I’d share what I learned for any designers here in Dubai looking for senior roles. 🥸 Experience matters To apply for a senior role, companies now ask for 5+ years of experience. For a head role, it’s often 10+ years. So, if your CV isn’t making it past the first stage, this might be why. 🏆 Being a great designer isn’t always enough One thing I learned? Even if you’re a fantastic designer, you might not get the job. I’ve interviewed designers and given them a strong “yes,” but they didn’t move forward. Why? It’s about the company’s culture, the way teams work, and what they expect from a designer. Sometimes, if you’re very outspoken, curious or opinionated, it can work against you… unless you’re lucky to meet people in the interview who value that. 🤗 But there’s hope If you find the right team, they’ll appreciate your passion and curiosity.
