What's your guess for ChatGPT 5? When will it be released? Offer your wisdom in the comments! Here's my guess: 1) ChatGPT 5’s release date will be in late November 2024... just after the US elections 2) They're going to play it safe and call it ChatGPT 4.5 3) It will bring improved contextual understanding, AI agents, and they'll also release Sora and Voice Engine... a solid step toward AGI 4) They might offer a "red team bounty" offering cash to anyone who figures out a way to evade guard rails, especially for Sora in a political context 5) They're worried about LLAMA – GPT used to be way ahead, but the recent LLAMA 3.1 405B model catches up. Plus, the open source model will bring thousands of programmers willing to add value to the model. Plus, if there's ever a "privacy chernobyl" event for AI, the absolute data privacy of self hosted genAI models will drive significant adoption to the detriment of OpenAI and other entrenched leaders.

If you thought ChatGPT was revolutionary, think again — U.S. intelligence has been leveraging generative AI long before it hit the mainstream. ➡️ Long before the public knew about generative AI, U.S. intelligence agencies were already using it to combat threats like illicit Chinese fentanyl trafficking. ➡️ In a 2019 operation called Sable Spear, AI technology identified twice as many companies and 400% more individuals involved in illegal activities compared to human-only efforts. ➡️ This AI-driven approach saved countless hours and led to significant breakthroughs, such as predicting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with 80% certainty. ➡️ Despite these successes, officials remain cautious, treating AI as a "crazy, drunk friend" due to its potential for error and security risks. ❓ With exponential data growth, the challenge remains: how can agencies balance innovation with reliability in the unpredictable world of intelligence? "AI is always reliable and never experiences downtime." However, even the most advanced AI systems, like ChatGPT, can face unexpected challenges. Here's why: OpenAI's recent global outage of ChatGPT, affecting millions of users, underscores the intricate complexities of running an AI service at such a vast scale. The issue began just before 7 PM ET, disrupting not only ChatGPT but also OpenAI's API and Sora services. OpenAI has been transparent, acknowledging the problem and actively working on a resolution, yet, as of now, no estimated time has been provided for when services will resume normally. So, instead of assuming AI systems are infallible, we must appreciate the efforts and fast responses such as those from OpenAI, especially when alternatives are not always viable. This event also emphasizes the importance of building a robust technical infrastructure to support regularly used services like ChatGPT, particularly when unexpected outages can significantly impact users globally. What do you think about the reliability of AI tools in critical operations? How should businesses prepare for such downtimes? Let's discuss! #AIDependability #TechInfrastructure #AIChallenges #SystemOutages #OpenAITech

The world is abuzz with Deepseek, a revolutionary AI tool that’s redefining the landscape. Offering performance comparable to ChatGPT o1 but using fewer resources, it’s efficient and accessible. Unlike most AI tools, Deepseek provides transparency in reasoning, showing step-by-step logic so you can verify outputs, making it ideal for tasks requiring precision and trust. A key feature is its ability to run locally on your computer, ensuring speed, independence, and data privacy—at least in theory. Social media discussions highlight mixed views. Many argue that running Deepseek offline means no data is sent anywhere, but others raise concerns about potential data sharing with servers in China, even when used locally. This raises important trust and compliance questions, especially given differing privacy regulations. Deepseek’s privacy policy adds to this complexity. Online, it collects profile data, user inputs, and even keystroke patterns to improve its services, meaning users essentially “pay” with their data. For personal projects, this may be acceptable, but for professional or sensitive tasks, it’s a serious consideration. With features like reasoning transparency and offline usability, Deepseek is pushing the boundaries of AI innovation. However, the trade-offs between its cutting-edge capabilities and privacy concerns mean your choice depends on balancing trust, security, and your specific needs. #AI #DeepSeek #ArtificialIntelligence #AITransparency #MachineLearning #TechPrivacy #DataSecurity #AIInnovation #LocalAI #PrivacyMatters
