I used up some annual leave recently & returned to work on Tuesday to a busy few days. On Tuesday, I spoke to Accrington Stanley Football Club chairman Andy Holt about the recent changes at the club. https://lnkd.in/ekmkVb8y Then on Wednesday, it was a chance to talk to Blackburn Rovers Football Club DOF Gregg Broughton on the last few months at Ewood. https://lnkd.in/eGmdHFxF And, finally a player interview in Scott Wharton, who was as open and honest as I’ve heard in some time. https://lnkd.in/e3imvqVD The thing to always remember (I think) is, remember why you’re there. It’s to get answers to questions that supporters want to ask. I always try to let the interviewee speak, with as little interruption as possible. But, when necessary to challenge as respectfully as possible. And, end with a handshake. Building & maintaining relationships is massively important to me and always will be. It's nearly the 10th anniversary of my "Parking Craters: Scourge of American Downtowns" which helped further amplify Angie Schmitt's invention of that term for Streetsblog's once national tourney 😀. I just took a look at it and a strange thing hit me: I believe that three of the four cities that we looked at now how have reduced a chunk of the parking craters I used in the films. In the world of advertising and marketing, there is arguably nothing as powerful for a product or brand as a television ad/commercial during the Super Bowl. CBS, this year’s host broadcaster, is expected to generate over $650m in revenues - over just a few hours! 💵 💵 💵 But tonight, it’s not a product or brand which is grabbing attention. It’s a message. When I watched this ad, I had tears streaming down my face. Why? Because this is what I and so many of my friends, family and business associates have experienced, specifically over the past four months. Dr Clarence B. Jones, a Civil Rights icon who helped draft Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech produced the ad. We need you to stand up for us. It means more than you can ever imagine.
