Great turnout last night at our happy hour and fireside chat with Tabs at 25madison HQ! In case you missed it, Ali Hussain had a few suggestions: DON’T: ❌ Be afraid of early churn: "Breaking-up” with 1-2 of your early design partners who are not engaged can actually help narrow your focus on the ideal customer profile (ICP). Although this is never set in stone, focusing on building alongside engaged partners can only bring you closer to it. ❌ Feel pressured to talk to investors: There is nothing wrong with being heads-down while building. You should set the timeline for when you are ready to engage, which often creates a bigger FOMO effect for investors. DO’s: ✅ Be scrappy: Seek ways to meet potential design partners, advisors, and investors in person. Some conversations are less likely to happen within the constraints of a Zoom call. ✅ Cross-reference your investors: Even the speed at which investors respond to your emails and connect you with their references sheds light on how they will show up for you and your team in the future.
