When a customer approached us with a picture and said, "Hey Bing, I want to develop this outdoor fleece blanket," we eagerly took on the challenge. During testing, we discovered that the polar fleece on top and the waterproof Oxford fabric on the bottom didn't pair well. The polar fleece is soft and elastic, while the Oxford cloth is hard and lacks elasticity. Sewing these two layers together resulted in a wrinkled surface. We then examined similar outdoor blankets from other brands and noticed they all had the same issue: a wrinkled, uneven surface. The humble microfiber towel is one of the most heavily used, and replaced, tool in our collection. Of course, it isn't just another piece of cloth and here in the batcave, we use four different types of microfiber towels with differing weave patterns for unique uses. The first is a Terry Weave, and this looped weave pattern traps dirt well so it is great for general cleaning and initial drying, but will snag on delicate surfaces and leaves streaks on glass. Next is Waffle Weave, where the raised waffle pattern creates a larger surface area for better water absorbtion and minimal streaking, but it is less effective at trapping dirt. The third is a Microfiber Suede, which is the softest of the lot and gentle on delicate surfaces. It's perfect for buffing, polishing and the final touches. And lastly, is the Plush Weave. It is the thickest towel we use, and the dense looped fibers are great for absorbency while its smooth surface is excellent for applying waxes.
