Once, I was reading an article that stated Mont Blanc is about 15,000,000 years old; it’s a very old, big rock. The article said: “Can you imagine the world without this massive rock?” And when you see a photo of Mont Blanc, it looks like a very strong, raw, rough rock. Wow, the feeling that I'm going to climb that rock, that I’m trying to summit it, makes me very humble. Wow, it’s impressive. Many people have done it before, but now it’s my turn. I’m wondering, can I make it? Can I not make it? I’m going with friends and my two daughters. We go as a team. We all go, or we all fail.
And now I’m getting a feeling of excitement and a feeling of worry because it’s not like going to the beach and enjoying the sun with a very nice caipirinha. This is a different thing that we are doing. So, the excitement and the worry, I think, is a good combination for success. Whether you’re going to reach the summit or not is secondary. The primary thing for all of us is that we’re going to try and have the experience of trying, no matter what the outcome is.
We know we have to be respectful to this 15,000,000-year-old massive rock. When you look at it, it demands respect; it demands humbleness. I cannot imagine, I cannot wait for the moment that we see Mont Blanc for the first time in all its strength and beauty. That’s something.
Thank you Much Better Adventures for organizing the ascent of Mont Blanc, which we are sure will be an unforgettable and inspiring experience for our entire team.
