🌍 Exploring the Future of Avian Diversity Monitoring with AI & IoT 🌍 Proud to share our latest study on how environmental factors impact bird diversity and vocal behavior, leveraging cutting-edge IoT sensors and BirdNet’s deep learning capabilities! Our MINTS-AI sensor network, deployed across Dallas, Texas, has enabled us to gather unique insights into how temperature, humidity, light intensity, and airborne particulate matter influence bird species such as the Northern Mockingbird, Mississippi Kite, Canada Goose, and House Finch. Notable findings include: • There appears to be a sweet spot temperature range for birds to sing between 20 to 30ºC (68 to 86ºF) • 📈 Winter: Positive correlation between bird diversity and temperature (r = 0.65 in 2023, r = 0.80 in 2024) • 📉 Summer: Negative correlation with temperature (r = -0.63 in 2023, r = -0.34 in 2024) • 💧 Humidity: Strong ties with vocal activity in moisture-dependent species • ☀️ Light Intensity: Direct influence on vocal behavior of certain species Our study highlights the potential of this IoT-based approach to monitor the impact of climate change on avian populations over time. 🛣️ A35 Brebemi Aleatica, in collaboration with 3Bee, is leading an ambitious initiative to monitor and restore #biodiversity along the 525-hectare stretch of the A35 Brebemi Highway. By integrating advanced scientific research with IoT technology, this project seeks to define a new standard for sustainable and innovative #infrastructure. 💡We are using both satellite and on-the-ground #technology to assess the highway’s impact on biodiversity. The collected data, aggregated on the Element-E Platform by 3Bee Ecosystem, provides a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and environmental risks. Initial satellite analysis has shown that the A35 is located in an area of critically low biodiversity, partly due to the heavily man-made context beyond the infrastructural presence. This emphasizes the need for urgent #regeneration. At the Treviglio Biodiversity Oasis, efforts like planting high-potential nectar species have already boosted Nectar Potential.  A natural, native, and nectar-rich meadow will also be sown to further support local biodiversity. With these proactive measures, A35 Brebemi Aleatica is not only enhancing local biodiversity but also ensuring compliance with EU environmental #standards.
