PHASE 2 OF THE DRY CREEK ROAD SHARED-USE PATH IS COMPLETE! In October, we began work on Phase Two of the shared-use pathway along Dry Creek Road, which runs from the Two Fence Trailhead. to just north of Gringo Road. This section of shared-use path is now complete. Phase Two consisted of the realignment of a small portion of Dry Creek Road by the Two Fence Trail to allow space for this new shared-use pathway. As a result, the roadway now slows vehicles down in a section where vehicles historically drive too quickly. Phase Two connects to Phase One, which runs between Two Fence Trail and the entrance to the Girdner Trail. Phase Three, from Gringo Road to White Bear Road, is currently in-design and will likely begin this spring. This new pathway is part of our Sedona Trails and Pathways System (ST&PS) and is a naturalized, dirt path made of stabilized decomposed granite with paver driveway crossings. Most of this pathway has space between it and Dry Creek Road, separating pathway users from vehicular traffic for added safety. HAVE YOUR SAY ON: A draft Deed of Amendment and Assignment for 8 Maitland Place, Norwest – Voluntary Planning Agreement: The draft amendments propose linking the completion of a new local road (Maitland Place to Spurway Drive) to the completion of the residential component of the development, or within 3 months of the upgrade of Spurway Drive (whichever occurs first). https://lnkd.in/gDyKKzWv The Planning Proposal, draft Development Control Plan amendments and draft Voluntary Planning Agreement for 7-15 Columbia Way, Norwest: This proposal seeks to facilitate 5 commercial buildings (5-15 storeys) at 7-15 Columbia Way, Norwest. The Stratton Lock and Dam in McHenry, Illinois, opened in 1960, and over the years, its condition and capacity deteriorated. Also, because boat sizes have increased since the lock was built, only four large boats could safely pass through the lock at once. Boats would spend up to four hours waiting to pass. Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) officials asked Hanson to provide a predesign report to review and summarize previous engineering analyses. Then, the Hanson team designed improvements to the lock, including doubling its length, allowing it to accommodate up to 10 boats at one time, decreasing the wait time to under one hour. The team's new gate design allows IDNR to better control the upstream pool elevation of the Fox River. And the team designed an innovative supplemental filling port with a diffuser to raise the water level, increasing safety for boats. The improvements were completed in 2022. #TBT #anniversary #project #LockAndDam

The Phase 2 report from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry has been released and here's a key summary of their findings: • Decades of failures by the government, regulatory bodies, and the construction industry to recognise and address the risks of combustible materials in high-rise buildings contributed to the Grenfell Tower fire. • Key construction product manufacturers engaged in deceptive practices, manipulating safety tests and misleading the market, while certification bodies failed to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Inadequate fire safety management was displayed, with a lack of training and preparedness contributing to the loss of life and property. • The initial response was slow, poorly managed, and failed to meet the needs of affected residents, leading to feelings of abandonment and distrust. • The report recommends establishing a single, independent regulatory body to oversee fire safety, improve building regulations, enhance product testing, and ensure that similar disasters do not happen in the future. 🔗 Read the full report via the link below. https://buff.ly/4dMG4KQ #Grenfell #BSR #Safety #BuildingSafetyRegulator #ResidentialConstruction #Remediation #BuildingSafety #Fire #FireRisk

Good to see new and useful technological advancements
📌South Street Interceptor Project In collaboration with the New York DDC, New York DEP, and Coppola Services, Inc. SEKISUI SPR Americas is thrilled to announce the use of our SPR-TM spiral wound technology for the first time in New York City for the South Street Interceptor Rehabilitation. Nearly 1,000 LF of an aging 8-foot by 6-foot rectangular sewer pipe will be rehabilitated by a rectangular liner, and will utilize the existing access points, a modified bypass plan, and overnight work hours to minimize interruption to the busy area above near New York City's financial district. It represents the first non-round liner installed in the US in 11 years. And, as of today, Coppola Services has already completed 100 LF of lining. Congratulations to everyone for their work to start this project and we look forward to updating everyone on its progress.

In 2018 I remember being very new at National Highways when Neil Watson and I drew a line on a map. The line connected two heathland severed by the A3. We were working on the DCO planning for the M25 J10 Improvement project. The line turned into the idea for a green bridge to reconnect Ockham Common and Wisley Common which are currently severed by the A3. We didn’t have to do it, there was no planning obligation or requirement, it was the right thing to do and there was a significant opportunity to deliver a significant environmental legacy. Pure enhancement. The idea turned into countless meetings, stakeholder consultation, design work, funding bids, investment panels, lobbying. However in early 2020 we got funding through the National Highways Designated Funds Programme to build a 30m wide, 70m long green bridge. This weekend the A3 is closed to install the beams for this bridge and it will be completed later this year, reconnecting the ecology of the two heathland parcels for the first time since the A3 was built some 50 years ago. It is the most meaning thing I think I have done in my career so far. 7 years on from 2018, a line on a map with be National Highways 3rd greenbridge is being built. An incredible number of hardworking and passionate people have been involved in the development and construction of the project, one of whom is no longer with us. I cant name them all. Its something to be majorly proud of and a hope people are. I look forward going for a stroll later in the year between the heathlands, but until then here is some drone footage of the site. https://lnkd.in/e87zZ-Zk Sorry for the inconvenience of the A3 being closed, some nature needs rebuilding. As with most things in life, time calls for change ... Nevertheless, I will always be proud of my involvement in the retaining wall business and how we worked to elevate the service for customers' complete satisfaction. On a similar note - We finished right on time the retaining wall installation in Buford, GA. A total success as I look back on the tight timeline. We came in and stabilized the slope by the creek in only 2 days. #womeninconstruction #projectmanagement

🏗️ What happens when a critical pipeline fails under a luxury community's concrete wall? This is exactly the challenge our teams at Hinterland Group tackled recently - and it showcases why private communities trust us with their most complex infrastructure challenges. The situation: -18" corrugated metal pipe collapsed under a concrete block wall -12 utility conflicts in dense landscape -High water table requiring specialized dewatering -Limited equipment access -Active golf course operations to maintain Our response? A synchronized deployment of five specialized crews: ✅Santos Rodriguez and Dan Ballard's teams executed precise pipeline replacement with manual excavation to protect existing utilities ✅ Saul Rivera's trenchless team installed an impressive 762' of 30" CIPP through the golf course, plus a 60" CIPP connecting two lakes ✅ Jesse Lewis's crew rehabilitated aging structures to eliminate infiltration issues ✅ Alfredo Ramirez's team properly decommissioned a collapsed 30" line using flow fill techniques The result? A complex infrastructure repair completed while maintaining the community's pristine appearance and minimizing disruption to resident activities. This is why HOAs and private communities continue to choose Hinterland Group. We don't just fix infrastructure - we protect property values and resident lifestyle through careful planning and expert execution. 💡 Looking for infrastructure solutions for your private community? A county in Wisconsin faced many challenges on their bridge replacement, particularly with funding and timing. In selecting the prefabricated InQuik bridge solution, they were able to: ☑️ Utilize their own internal resources & equipment ☑️ Reduce construction timelines and costs significantly ☑️ Collaborate with local contractors to get the bridge done with only a 3-week road closure.
