Today's impromptu Drawing Jam became more like a 2 hour workshop on how to draw horses! See, earlier in the week, we had a Feedback Session in the How to Draw Comics Academy, where I went over a student's work - Ashlin, whose sequential art featured some battle horses. And after doing a few draw-overs for him, I realized, I was kinda rusty at drawing horses myself! So that's what inspired the theme of today's Drawing Jam, and needless to say, it was a lot of fun. We took a look at horses drawn in various comic book styles, and did two demos - where we broke down references of real horses and redrew them. I don't think I realized how incredible horses actually are until today. Their powerful anatomy, shape, and majestic movement really do make them a fulfilling subject to draw.
