At the ESLA Congress, Gareth finally met Anne-Lise Leclercq! Anne-Lise co-authored a study on VR for children and adolescents who stutter in 2021! The study was vital for our field and showed how VR situations are comparable for people who stutter to their real equivalent. Augmenting group hoarding disorder treatment with virtual reality discarding - A novel virtual reality (VR) intervention was developed for hoarding disorder. - An individualized VR replica of one's actual home and possessions was made for each patient. - Patients practiced discarding in this VR space as an augmentation to Buried in Treasures. - The intervention was found to be feasible, acceptable, and well-tolerated. - Findings suggest the potential for the intervention to reduce hoarding. #hoarding #ocd #vìrtualtherapy https://lnkd.in/dBY7C5Dc

Meta, for all their issues, has a wonderful catalog of content titled VR for Good - https://lnkd.in/e7FaKKbh. I will do a much deeper dive into this content later, but I thought it would be timely to point out these titles focusing on MLK. "MLK, Now Is The Time" is a free VR app I experienced this morning. It's very powerful and well worth it. I hope that with the improvement in hand tracking with Webxr, more of these experiences will be available in the browser very soon.
