Have you ever wondered how #plasmatechnology is used in wafer-level packaging and #3Dpackaging applications? Plasma applications include descum, ashing/photoresist/polymer stripping, dielectric etch, wafer bumping, organic contamination removal and wafer destress. Check out this video from our member company, Nordson Electronics Solutions division, March Plasma Systems. It demonstrates how the Strato Sphere systems (SUCH a clever name, don't you think?) can be used: 👉 Wafer Cleaning - The SPHERE series plasma systems remove contamination before wafer bumping, as well as organic contamination, fluorine and other halogen contamination, and metal and metal oxides. Plasma also improves spun-on film adhesion and cleans metallic bond pads. 👉 Wafer Etching - Plasma systems descum wafer of residual photoresist and BCB, pattern dielectric layers for redistribution, strip/etch photoresist, enhance adhesion of wafer applied materials, remove excess wafer applied mold /epoxy, enhance adhesion of gold solder bumps, destress wafer to reduce breakage, improve spun-on film adhesion, and clean aluminum bond pads. 👉Software-controlled change-over minimizes the transition from 200mm to 300mm wafers 👉Production-ready wafer handling supports backside or edge-grip wafer transfer. 👉 Modular design allows single- or dual-chamber system configuration Load ports support 200mm open cassettes or 300mm FOUP. 👉 Unique end-effector design can transfer a variety of wafer thicknesses and weights. 👉 Chamber kits isolate plasma distribution directly above the wafer, maximizing uniformity and throughput. https://lnkd.in/g64UwjP5

👌In a study, researchers miniaturized soft pneumatic fingers comprising three parts, namely an extensible Ecoflex finger, inextensible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) layer, and an air channel with three expandable chambers, were developed. This flexible pneumatic finger can grip items while minimizing damage to fragile items. 💉The silicone tube was connected to the miniaturized soft pneumatic finger, a syringe pump, and a pressure sensor. The syringe pump【SPLab02】was used to inject air at a steady rate instead of manual injection. 👀Check it out: https://lnkd.in/erw4_sGb 【Fabrication and study of miniaturized soft pneumatic fingers】 #SyringePump #SPLab

Evaluating the particulates generated from joint replacement wear is important for assessing biocompatibility. The effect wear particles have on the body is variable, and can depend on many factors such as size, shape, volume, composition, and patient response. The method used to characterize wear particles from joint replacements first follows a sample collection gathered from a wear or dynamic test. Next, the particles are processed for qualitative and quantitative characterization including particle morphology, particle counts, and wear volume estimates. Particles examined may be metal, ceramic, polyethylene, PEEK, and other composites related to the device tested. 📞 Contact us to add particle analysis data to your 510k submission! #ParticleAnalysis #Biocompatibility #Keyence #ParticleCharacterization #ASTMF1877 #ASTMF561 KEYENCE CORPORATION
