“I needed this today.” That was feedback from one of the women who attended our talk on “Building Confidence as a Woman in the Workplace”, a little virtual event my company had this week. If you missed it, and if you, too, need a reminder that you’re brilliant, beautiful, and capable of amazing things, here’s a summary: 1. You’ve got to fake it till you make it. (Basic, I know. But so true.) 2. Being a woman is an advantage. Woman up, I say! 3. Be in your own corner. 4. Failure is your friend, and your biggest teacher. 5. Doubt your doubts. 6. It’s only new and scary the first time. 7. Take the time to believe in yourself. 8. Become aware of your inner dialogue. 9. Resilience is not something that can be taught. It’s a choice. 10. And lastly, know that your voice has value. Women in the Workplace is in full swing at Leap as we enter week 2 of content tomorrow. Week 1 was a major hit- your worst fear as a discussion based group facilitator is “what if people don’t speak up?” Well the women of Leap did not disappoint and we had a jam packed hour discussing topics like micro aggressions, being the only woman in the room, and when to speak up. Tomorrow we’ll start to identify risks we want to take in the next 3 months using Christie Hunter Arscott’s framework. #womenempowerment #womenatwork #risktaking #careerdevelopment
