So excited to share about meeting #StevensCounty Commissioner Kopitzke and County Administrator Becky Young . We talked about their awesome work in making over 60 new spots for family child care in Stevens County, MN.   Here’s what really stuck with me:   1. #NewGround: There’s so much still to learn about multi-unit child care spaces. It’s exciting to keep learning! 2. #TeamworkRocks: Having a strong team makes a huge difference. This project showed just how true that is. 3. #BigImpact: In this process, they’ve identified eight people who wanted to start child care but didn’t have the space. This shows there’s a big chance to do more for our communities.   I appreciated the opportunity to build more knowledge to help support the communities we’re helping guide through similar processes to create new space for child care. This work shows how creating spaces can really help our communities grow stronger.   Let's keep pushing and making things better, one step at a time! #Childcare #Rural #EconomicDevelopment

Reshma Saujani asked the question on every parents’ mind - what’s your plan for addressing the too high costs of #childcare (2x the cost of rent for 2 kids in every state😱) and make it easier for families to find the care they need? One ticket has leaders who have enacted child care policies that have served millions of children and plans to do more. One has a combo of gobbledygook and grandparents. The freedom to choose how and where to raise our children (if WE decide to have them) requires that we have leaders who articulate plans to invest in care.
