Hello Connections, MY JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY: How I came into Digital Marketing While getting my MBA in 2021, I began my adventure into digital marketing by securing an internship at Hotpack Global in Dubai. They advised me to go with digital marketing and e-commerce. My two-month internship ended, and I became interested in and fascinated by digital marketing. I later realized that digital marketing was the best career option for me after working for a while and being hired as a Business Development Associate at EdYoda Digital University in Bangalore. I later learned about CDA Academy and sought to work there as an intern at QuadCubes. Thanks to recommendations from many of my friends, I was so curious that I started looking into the wide world of digital marketing. My foray into the field of digital marketing has been a life-changing experience that has influenced not just my professional path but also my viewpoint on the relationship between business, technology, and human behavior. During my time, I supported my team, took on individual responsibilities, and engaged in sales on the floor. I learned valuable skills such as handling a large retail store, solving problems with innovative strategies from department managers, and working with SAP software and Excel. So, I am Wrapping up my first month as a FMCG sales intern in Bajaj Consumer Care and this has been nothing short of exhilarating. Diving headfirst into the fast-paced world of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, I've had the chance to understand consumer behavior and refine my sales techniques. Every day presents new challenges that push me out of my comfort zone and offer invaluable learning opportunities. Here are the 3 major learnings that I have learnt in this short period of time :- • Communication:- This is paramount, especially for an introvert like me. My Sales internship has pushed me to come out of my shell and taught me the value of effective communication. Whether it's pitching to a client or coordinating with team members, clear and concise communication has facilitated smoother operations and better relationships. • Patience- This has been one of the most crucial lessons. Sales cycles can be unpredictable and staying patient through the ups and downs is key. Every interaction, even the challenging ones, contributes to my learning curve. • Resilience- This is another critical takeaway. Facing rejection is a part of the sales journey. Learning to bounce back and stay positive has strengthened my resolve and improved my problem-solving skills. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue embracing challenges, leveraging these lessons, and contributing meaningfully to our team’s success. And most importantly, I would like to thank Globsyn Business School for giving me this opportunity of the first industry exposure.
