Value of Research: There is overwhelming evidence (refer Fig below) from multiple sources to justify research as “one of the best investments” than can be made with public and private funds. At HE institutions, leadership actively encourages, prioritizes, and supports faculty and student research. Research funding may be sought and provided by the HEI itself or through external organizations like government agencies, industry, and private foundations.

🎓 367,578 international students studied at a German university in the winter semester 2022/2023, more than ever before. This puts #Germany in third place in the global popularity ranking among students. 🔬 Universities are the basis for Germany's broad scientific and research landscape. These areas are central to the future: by 2025, the proportion of total government spending on research and development is set to rise to at least 3.5 per cent.
