Here are the key aspects of their Open Hiring model: 💼✂️ - Anyone interested in working at the bakery can simply add their name to a waitlist, no questions asked. 📝✅ - New employees are hired from the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis as positions become available. 🕰️🚪 - There are no resumes, interviews, or background checks required to get hired. 🚫📄 - The only requirements are being legally authorized to work in the U.S., being able to stand for 8 hours, and lift over 50 lbs. 🇺🇸⏰💪 The Open Hiring model allows individuals facing significant barriers to employment, such as limited work history, criminal records, substance abuse issues, or homelessness, to gain employment at Greyston Bakery. 🚫🚧 Once hired, employees have access to an on-site case manager and support services through the Greyston Foundation to help mitigate their employment barriers. 🙋♀️🙋♂️ By providing employment opportunities and wraparound services, Greyston aims to address not just unemployment but also issues like homelessness, food insecurity, education, recidivism, and crime rates in the community. 🏡🍽️📚🚔 The bakery generates revenue by selling its products to large customers like Ben & Jerry's and Whole Foods, allowing it to sustain the Open Hiring model as a for-profit social enterprise. 💰🍪 Greyston's vision is to see the Open Hiring model replicated more widely, with a goal of filling 40,000 jobs through open hiring by 2030 to unlock $3 billion in economic impact across the U.S. 🌎💼💸

According to recent data obtained from LinkedIn and Indeed, retail food companies operating in Jefferson County have reported the highest number of job postings in the last month. The data analysis was made on the businesses listed in the Jeffco 500 over the last three months. On average, the retail food sector offered 170 jobs per company.
