LPs have jam-packed schedules, attending 15+ AGMs each year, where every moment counts. The goal is to make a lasting impression. So you need to educate, update, and entertain all at once, but how? Here are 4 strategies we've learned from 20+ AGM projects: 💥Stay Agile: It’s important to cover essential topics like a portfolio and firm overview, industry, fund, and team update. Every AGM should have these, but that doesn’t mean your schedule can’t change during your event. Read the room! Adjust your agenda to better engage your guests. If LP’s eyes start glazing over from staring at screens, maybe it’s time to mix it up and switch to a networking activity. 📖 Incorporate Storytelling: Storytelling is much more memorable than dry statistics. Share the backstories of your founders or the why behind key partnerships. The narrative and delivery of your updates are what will set you apart. Show - don’t just tell - what your firm has been doing for the past year. How? Video could be your answer. 🎤 Boost Interactivity: No one likes to sit for hours on end listening to endless slideshow presentations, so keep your event interactive. Whether through surveys or simple changes like rearranging seating to encourage networking, keep attendees on their toes and present. 🤝 Relationship Building: Creating long-term relationships is the ultimate goal of any AGM. Make sure to provide opportunities for meaningful connections by adding networking sessions or brief entertainment to your meeting agenda. Remember, the AGM is not just a checkpoint - it's a chance for continued communication with your LPs. Make sure to follow up with case studies, portfolio highlights, and fundraising stories for the next fund and keep your conversation going. 💭 Which of these strategies will you try at your next AGM? #privateequity #AGM #networking #engagementstrategies

🤝Networking is more than just exchanging business cards – it's about building meaningful relationships. We’ve noticed a change in conference and venue layouts and see a huge missed opportunity- which is facilitating attendee networking. Here are our recommendations so that your attendees get the most out of their time: 🌟Speed Networking with a Twist: Incorporating a fun theme or using unconventional pairings to kick off the conference. (Make sure that your staff is there to support attendees who may not be as comfortable with this) 🌟Networking Bingo: This is a fan favorite! Create cards with pieces of info about your attendees that you gathered from registration like, cities represented, or favorite movie genre- you name it! 🌟Networking Scavenger Hunt: This is a great way to get your attendees used to the layout of the conference venue, while building new friendships. We recommend doing this on the first day so attendees who came alone can have people to sit and engage with throughout the conference. #NetworkingTips #EventPros #ConnectionsMatter

Intrapreneurial Marketing & Operations Director YOUR BUSINESS CONFIDANT, STRATEGIC ALLY & TASK FINISHER.
Somebody I want to shout out to is the brilliant Author and Fantasy Writing Coach, Colin Murugiah! Not to mention it was Colin's birthday this past month (Happy Birthday Colin!) I had such fun helping Colin and his team April launch a coaching program through an online challenge event. From email automation, funnel building, graphic design, content strategy as well as event execution - we had a wild few weeks, creating everything from scratch!! Did you know that virtual events can increase attendance by up to 73% compared to in-person events? That's right, the digital age is transforming the way we connect and engage with our audience. With the flexibility of virtual events, you can reach a global audience without the hassle of travel or venue limitations. Plus, studies show that companies save up to 75% on costs by hosting virtual events instead of traditional ones. Talk about a win-win! In today's fast-paced world, being ahead of the curve is essential for business success. By leading with a virtual event, you can captivate your audience, generate buzz, and drive meaningful connections—all from the comfort of your own screen. Whether you're launching a new product, hosting a conference, or fostering networking opportunities, virtual events offer endless possibilities for growth and innovation. I think one of my favourite things is how anybody can run one. Sure, it can be totally high tech and glamorous... but it doesn't have to be! A simple smart phone running Zoom makes so much possible! I love this quote from Colin... "I had no idea where or how to start. [Mits] walked me through everything with helpful pdfs, follow-up emails and face-time every step of the way. Her process was simple, clear and effective. Furthermore, she went above and beyond all my expectations. We got my first live-launch challenge event done in three and a half weeks! It was a lot of hard work but super fun. As a result, I was able to launch a brand new group coaching program". Yeah baby. That's how we like to roll! #VirtualEvents #BusinessInnovation #LiveLaunch

I help you create memorable connections with your audience through multi-channel content. Senior Content Marketing Manager | Podcast Host | Live Event Host | Community Builder
Most virtual events are boring. Here's how to change that. I’ve hosted over 100 online events since 2020—from group meditations, team gatherings, webinars, and conferences. Every event gives me a buzz. Why? I treat each one like a good party. 🎉 A fun party connects people and charges your social battery. Who wouldn't rather go to a good party than being talked at in a webinar? Here are five ways to make your virtual events less sales pitch and more connective and memorable: 1. Engage in Real-Time - Jump into the chat. - Ask attendees how they’re doing. - Use humor and anecdotes. 2. Be Relatable - Share personal stories. - Show vulnerability. - Listen to your guests. 3. Create Two-Way Conversations - Don’t just present; interact. - Act like you’re in a room with people. - Encourage participation. 4. Use Email and Social Media - Hype up the event beforehand. - Send emails to your list. - Use LinkedIn newsletters. 5. Collaborate with Others - Team up with guests who have shared followings. - Rely on word-of-mouth if you have a small budget. What else would you add? Let me know in the comments. #VirtualEvents #EventManagement #Engagement

I put Engagement and People-first in B2B #Events & #Communities | B2B Matchmaking Expert | I implement B2B Matchmaking sessions - connecting the right people for impactful business outcomes
✌️ When #Networking is the general ask, organize Matchmaking sessions within #Events. Simple enough, right? WRONG! 97% attendees said they want networking. 𝗬𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟮% 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗼𝗻-𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. Such wasted opportunities and here is why: 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹. ➡ Networking, Matchmaking in #Events is a science. ➡ Aimless networking just wastes your attendee’s time. ➡ Each attendee has different expertise & interests, business objectives, and engagement preferences. Some want 1-1 meetings, others prefer roundtable discussions, others get everything from a panel Q&A session. Here is what I learned about Matchmaking sessions within events: ✔️ 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 to understand the diverse needs of your attendees. Some crave one-on-one meetings; others thrive in group discussions. ✔️ 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁. Match the method to the attendee's preferences, not just the agenda. ✔️ 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮. Ensure every connection made adds value, avoiding superficial matches. How have you personalized networking at your events? 📌 PS. Check out my guide on Amazon: 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨.
