The #Denver Basic Income Project is the first major effort in the #US to study the impact of providing guaranteed income to individuals who are unhoused, as a means of accelerating the path toward stability. I founded and seeded this initiative with $500,000 in #Tesla gains. We have already raised an additional $3.3M on top of this to provide unconditional basic income to our unhoused neighbors in Denver, accompanied by a rigorous RCT (Randomized Control Trial) run by DU’s Center for Housing and Homelessness Research. We don’t have to wait for the government to come in and fix things, as Tesla has shown in the automotive industry. We just need to offer better solutions. Direct cash is increasingly seen as one of the most effective ways to fight poverty and economic inequality. We are hoping to take our program to 20 more cities in 2022 and 200 in 2023. We will need the help of the Tesla community and other high-net-worth individuals to make this happen. I have learned many things from Elon, and one of the most inspiring is that huge, unimaginable positive change is possible at a pace that most believe is impossible. Let’s not accept the status quo when it comes to poverty, homelessness, and economic injustice. The Tesla community can be leaders in this space as well, if we so choose. UPDATE: This is the story of the Denver Basic Income Project. Our work is centered around building hope through basic income and empowering individuals experiencing homelessness to not just survive, but thrive. We are inspired and motivated by stories and experiences like the incredible ones featured in this video. Unstoppable: Vibing High! It is my absolute pleasure to introduce Miss January 2024 Unstoppable Woman…Anja Žibert. Anja oozes with gratitude for life. Her journey, like so many women I have interviewed has a similar path. Life was continually leading her back to herself and giving her clues as to what was to unfold for her to embody the greatest expression of herself. In 2005, she got a voice that popped into her head “Free Spirit”, a name on she would use on MySpace. At the time she wasn’t connected to her purpose, so it stopped there. In 2011, it came up again. She decided to have “Free Spirit” tattooed to her back. In 2016 she became a headhunter and shortly after, she had her spiritual awakening. She didn’t resonate with how recruiting was being done, so she began to do things her own way. She didn’t want to continue the system of “selling” people. She bucked the system where people were manipulated to collect money. She couldn’t do it. Her integrity lead the way for her and as a result, was crashing all the KPI’s. She found working in that system exhausting and she resigned in 2018. She took two more jobs and was terminated from both when they went bankrupt before she started her company, Free Spirit Human Capital (FSHC) in 2020. The entire business plan, program, prices, everything came to her one evening when she was laying on the couch. Everything she had been doing and working on herself, brought her to that moment where she knew exactly what she was going to do. Anja has a big mission in life, one she embraces so completely, you cannot be in her presence and not feel her passion. Her mission is to help raise collective consciousness. Through FSHC she connects candidates and companies based on vibrational frequency levels....incredibly innovative. Anja is a disruptor in the best way….showing candidates and companies that there is a better way. The candidates she works with are going through a spiritual awakening. For anyone who has been through an awakening knows, this can be a very confusing time. She helps these candidates step into their power and normalizes their experiences. She also helps companies as a trainer for HeartMath. She teaches companies that we are all energetic beings and every company is an energetic being. Anja works with both parties, raising their frequency, and then aligning them together. Presto bingo! So many people are frustrated with company cultures, trying to find their place and Anja and her company are providing real solutions to real problems. It is not an easy task being a disrupter, bumping up against old systems, thinking and paradigms. It truly takes a brave soul, completely empowered and connected to their own soul mission….and this is Anja, true and true. I remember my first Recruitment Manager who told me that finding a great recruiter is not about their experience, their education nor their success. It’s all about their Parents ! -When they come from great parents, they will be great Yes! I know some families who have beaten the odds Some call it 'Circles' some call it 'Class' but it's real and it’s very hard for the Talented to be given a Neutral (Fair) Platform to launch their career. I love the 'Underdog' because I appreciate that they have smashed through their Imagined and Real ceiling to become kings and queens. But I constantly feel annoyed that there are children born in particular parts of Dublin / Ireland /Europe and the World who will ultimately have a tougher journey and are destined not to succeed. They can be stamped by their accent, by their nationality, address, by their friends, by their aspirations, and by their level of education. It’s nearly impossible for them to break free from the poverty circle. Their parents lack of Education and Employment in the majority of cases is reflected on to their children. No equity to pass down, no belief in education and career planning and an acceptance of the status quo! Yes! they all love their kids and in the majority of cases, too much! Their parents try to over compensate their situation by purchasing the latest gadgets and brands while struggling to balance their huge Debt! Some use sugar, some use fast food, some use alcohol and unfortunately some use drugs. All with the objective of disguising their reality. So how do you break the circle of poverty ? It all starts with your roots. Having an inspirational parent (s) or guardian! You know that mum or dad who pushes their kids to do their best and be their best. This type of parent can live in any situation and still their kids will prosper! They are the catalyst of success! and they are generally a reflection of their parents who valued education and career success or whom has aspirations of their own to succeed. But there is another way! It’s called Attitude! and requires huge motivation and belief in yourself to smash through the ceiling of poverty, class and silly stupid circles. Expect to lose some old friends on the way! But if this your strategy! You are already a success! I love the 'Underdog' because they have climbed mountains while others simply took the elevator. They have proved the system wrong, they don’t need to stand on any giants shoulder, they simply are an inspiration ! And that’s why you should hire the underdog….

One of the people in my community is suffering from imposter syndrome. Her confidence is low because she doesn’t feel like she knows enough about business analysis. And she is scared that nobody will hire her! I quickly reached out to her and helped her reframe how she was feeling. Imposter syndrome is really just the feeling of being a beginner. And it’s okay to give yourself grace at the beginning of anything. If you are transitioning careers, launching a new business, or learning a new skill, don’t panic! It's easy to feel out of place or overwhelmed when stepping into uncharted territories. Just remind yourself that: You are not an Imposter! You are simply navigating the early stages of a new adventure. Keep going.

How to be a superhero in 2024. Firefighter? Yup, still need those! Law enforcement? Sadly criminals still breaking laws. Talent acquisition? Wait what? Hear me out. Recruiters have the ability to change job applicants' lives. Those who are out of work, desperate to provide for their families, keep a roof over their head and food on the table. Recruiters can identify talent and potential, and make offers that financially may be above the min or average for the post yet could be significantly more than the applicant ever earned, life changing money. Can the TA community be the superheroes of 2024? I think so. So many lay-offs, so many unemployed, so many working so hard to find a new employer. What do we look for when we hire? When we hire at Qureos, we don't only consider what the candidate can offer us but also what we as a company can offer them. One of the first things we look for in a candidate is their "why" – their motivation to join Qureos. Are they seeking a new opportunity because they're dissatisfied with their current situation, or are they solely motivated by financial incentives? While neither of these reasons is inherently wrong, It's super important to understand a candidate's underlying motivations. On the other hand, if a candidate is driven by a desire for growth and mentorship, that's a promising sign. It shows a genuine interest in personal and professional development which aligns closely with our values at Qureos. But on the flip side, we also consider how Qureos can effectively support their goals. We ask ourselves, is the candidate overqualified? Will we be able to provide the mentorship, resources, and opportunities they're seeking? At the end of the day, the relationship should be mutually beneficial.
