Happy Valentine's Day! To celebrate Valentine's Day, we have made a Valentine's Day Cocktail using some of our products – Cranberry NFC Juice, Lime NFC Juice and IQF Raspberries! Enjoy the recipe below with your romantic dinner tonight, the below recipe makes enough for 2 drinks. If you want a larger serving, we recommend doubling up the quantities below. Ingredients – Chilled Prosecco or Sparkling Wine 150ml Cranberry NFC Juice 50ml Vodka (can use another spirit if you prefer) 4 Raspberries (we used IQF Raspberries and defrosted prior to use) 1 tsp Lime NFC Juice (or could use a wedge of lime squeezed) 1 tsp Grenadine Handful of Ice Method – 1. Choose the glasses you would like to serve your Valentine’s Day Cocktail in – we used 2 champagne flute glasses. 2. Mix the Cranberry Juice, Lime Juice, Grenadine, and Vodka in a cocktail shaker with your ice or in a jug if you don’t have a cocktail shaker. 3. Strain the cocktail from the shaker or jug and pour into your glasses of choice. 4. Add 2 raspberries to each glass and top up with prosecco or sparkling wine. 5. Enjoy!

Friendly reminder to PROACTIVELY take care of your off-prem verticals. Did you check with the field to make sure your restaurants aren't closing early? Check with those Area Directors. I'll bet you $5 that there's at least one you don't know about. Make sure your catering team knows about any early closures so their calendars are up-to-date. Why proactively? If you shut your restaurant down ON The Big Game day, you'll tank your SEO on the 3rd party delivery apps (also known as DSPs). Also, someone could come to your restaurant, having made plans on Saturday with their buds. That's not cool if you're closed. Also, for your marketing endeavors - The Name You're Thinking About In Your Head is SUPER DUPER trademarked. And their lawyers LOVE to send letters on their official letterhead. Ask me how I know. TRICK AND TREAT THIS HALLOWEEN. The other day I made a very early stop at Boldú a donut and coffee shop that has been an institution in Barcelona since 1939. When I came in, half asleep, I was greeted by a friendly, upbeat employee. I wanted to buy a donut but did not know which. She asked what I liked and carefully guided me through the different sizes and flavors. I was intrigued by the Nutella one. The sales lady then showed the bigger Halloween Nutella edition. Due to the price difference, I was doubting but she explained it was a special, limited edition, only available until Halloween. As I happily gave in, I explained her I wanted to give it to my family in the evening. The employee proactively put it in a special box and small carry bag. “Easy to take with you all day and nice to show off”, she said. While I paid, the staff member asked where my daughter was, as she remembered us coming in a while back. A very nice, personalized touch. I complemented her on her overall attitude, service excellence and professionalism. She replied that her manager told her the same. Another wow! I left the store while she thanked me for the visit. What can we learn for our business from this age-old bakery? 1. Hire friendly and positive people. 2. Make sure they have excellent product knowledge. 3. Create a sense of urgency for the customer to buy your product. 4. Make your customer feel special by treating them like an individual, not a number. 5. Recognize your staff when they take good care of your customers. 6. Give a good first and last impression to your customers. 7. Listen carefully to your customer’s needs. 8. Last but not least, give your customer a ‘sweet’ product that makes them happy! This way you will ‘trick’ your customer in a wonderful ‘treat’.
