Progress does not begin with questioning whether a thing can or cannot be done. Anyone can convince themselves of either. Rather, progress begins with the question:
"For this to happen what needs to be true"
If we are thorough this question will yield a list of principles and actions that need to be tested and verified. Then we have only to go down that list and figure out how to accomplish each of those things, then prove we can do them repeatably, reliably, safely.
Human learning is a beautiful miracle that has brought us from crawling, to walking, to swimming, to flying...and beyond, while horrified onlookers and naysayers cringed and trembled. And after inspiration replaces doubt and fear...and man progresses.
There is no magic involved or divinity beyond a determination to accomplish a new thing built upon what we already know. By observation, trial and error, and inevitably-if we are determined, success we add to our knowledge.
