After studying the backgrounds of 130 Britons nominated for the main prizes at the Oscars, Baftas and Mercury prize over the last 10 years, the Labour party found that 40% went to private school.

For complete transparency is there a way of finding out if any of those counted in the 40% attended on burseries? I know it’s unlikely to make up a large number but keen to see if talent does actually get a helping hand with school fees.
So much more to be done.

No surprise there. Meritocracy remains a distant dream.
