OPINION: Out of every option of the careers we could of chosen, sales is not the most glamourous, most rewarding or the most fulfilling. But, damn it.. Its ours and we love it. So, the only way to become more successful than most of the other sales reps is to be willing to do something most other sales reps aren’t willing to do. Which at this moment is cold calling, emailing acknowledging clear problems and solutions. Take action and pick up that phone..

My first ever Sales Manager said to me: “Jamal, Pipeline cures all” At the time, I didn’t register the importance of this statement. But today, it rings in my mind daily. Even if you’re a terrible closer at this stage of your career. With enough Pipeline you can still crush your number. If you have more Pipeline coverage than you need. Then you have a one way ticket to the 200% club. In any given event, always prioritise building Sales Pipeline. It will see you through every stage of your career. 🙏🏾

One of the initial perception I had about sales was that "sales is nothing more than just a job.” I didn't see any career paths in Sales. Certainly, it is a job, but I've come to understand that sales is much more deeper than the way it appears on the surface it's actually a mindset, that involves creativity, the power of influence, building strong rapport and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues as well. With sales I believe there are opportunities to grow and become a sales professionals with no sales degree needed.

What is the best definition of a Sales Executive in the staffing industry? Is it convincing someone to sell their services no matter what, or is it caring for someone? As a Sales Executive, it's true that we all work for money. But I believe that when we take the time and genuinely care about providing good service to our customers, the revenue will naturally follow. Before being a Sales Executive, we need to be good human beings who care for others.
