Our own culture consists of many different aspects. Often we discuss culture with regards to national culture, and while this is a useful starting point, it is not the end of the story. Remember that many other factors will impact an individual's behaviour, including professional specialty, corporate culture, level of experience, age, gender, and much more….. Even when we assume we are speaking the same language, it quickly becomes apparent that different cultures have very different views of what is - and is not - appropriate.

"The duty of integration and transformation rests not only on the shoulders of minorities but also on the majority, regardless of the specific aspect of integration under discussion". More than two weeks after the Intercom event on racism in Denmark, this phrase uttered by Dr. Phaedria Marie St. Hilaire continues to resonate in my mind. When discussing the integration of internationals into Denmark, the responsibility often falls solely on the international individuals themselves. While programs exist to assist international employees in assimilating, at Intercom we advocate for a shift in focus, empowering Danes and Danish companies to remove obstacles and foster a welcoming environment for their international colleagues. Join our practical workshop led by Intercultural Communication expert Kristina Roppelt! 📖Can one book become an inspiration to create a large educational project for the entire office? It turns out that YES! Many months ago, I came across Erin Meyer book 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗽: 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 - page by page it turned out that the more obvious things seemed to me, the less I actually knew... And then a thought appeared in my head - what if some of the misunderstandings and biases in my #work environment are not due to our bad intentions, but simply because we do not understand the differences of our #cultures? 💡 And that's how the 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 project was created (𝗗𝗮𝘆 + 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 = 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 😊) - one day a month we celebrate #diversity in our #UPMbusinesshubwroclaw - we learn about the business cultures of the countries our colleagues come from, I interview them to see our Polish culture through their eyes and find crucial differences in our cultures, and - most importantly - learn a lot about each other. We also learn about various aspects of intercultural communication that we can use during everyday cooperation. Thank you Erin Meyer for such beautiful inspiration! Let's create a culture beyond differences! :) #CultureAwareness UPM - The Biofore Company

🌍 Is your business ready to go global? Expanding into new markets is exciting, but navigating cultural differences can be challenging. From language barriers to diverse consumer preferences, cultural nuances can make or break your international expansion efforts. At HatchEcom, our multicultural team is our biggest asset. Why? Because we don’t just understand cultural differences—we live them. Our diverse backgrounds give us firsthand insights into the unique challenges and opportunities of global markets, helping you: 🔍 Understand your target market: Our team’s in-depth cultural analysis helps you tailor your products and marketing to truly resonate with your international audience. For example, when Starbucks entered Australia, they underestimated the local coffee culture, leading to challenges in aligning their offerings with consumer preferences. 📝 Create localized content: With experts who speak the language of your target market—literally and figuratively—we craft compelling content that connects on a deeper level. As Coors learned the hard way in Spain with their “Turn it Loose” campaign, failing to verify translations can result in costly misunderstandings, as their slogan was interpreted as “suffering from diarrhea.” 🤝 Build strong brand relationships: We leverage our multicultural expertise to adapt your brand messaging and visual identity, helping you build trust and credibility with customers around the world. It’s not just about translation; it’s about transformation. 🚀 Ready to take the leap? Partner with us to turn cultural challenges into competitive advantages. With HatchEcom’s multicultural team by your side, global success is within reach. #globalexpansion #crossculturemarketing #ecommercestrategy #culturalawareness #hatchEcom #marketentrystrategy #localization #internationalbusiness #branding #multiculturalteam #globalgrowth
