Creating Community Impact, One Bowl at a Time 🏌️♂️ Yesterday, TurnBerry Acai had the privilege of being part of something bigger than ourselves. We joined forces with the Canada Shriners Hospital for their 13th Annual Invitational at Summerlea Golf & Country Club. The goal? To raise $1 million for life-changing medical imaging technology that keeps children safe. When we launched TurnBerry Acai 7 months ago, we didn’t just set out to make the best acai bowls in the city — we set out to make a difference. Our mission quickly evolved into "creating an everlasting community impact that transcends acai. One bowl at a time. One city at a time." 🌍 From university campuses to charity events like this one, being there for our community isn’t just a priority—it’s who we are. And no matter how fast we grow, this will never change. Should've prepped the 150 bowls in advance, but I've always been a crash course type of student haha! Could've been a disaster if dad was not here to carry the boat (insert David Goggins)! PS: I was a bit starstruck when I got to meet Montreal Canadiens' legend Chris Nilan haha! Buenos dias, LinkedIn! Week 11 of 2024 AND #5 Wake Up Wednesday ✨️ FEAR! One of the greatest tools our human mind has given us to protect ourselves and also one of the most debilitating tools from trying something new and taking that leap. 🤸🏽♀️ February 9th, Mountain Mojo Group participated in Canyon Coolers Cooler Races to benefit Flagstaff Family Food Center: Food Bank and Kitchen. Kenny and I volunteered as tributes to ride down an epic sled led and created by Austin Leggett, friends, and our Mojo Team. What an experience! This was our second race where we won and COMPLETELY wiped out. So many folks had came up to disclose their fears of never doing anything like that cause of the risk. Shooken up after the fall, we had zero concerns to do it again because of the following: ✨️ Support from our team! We knew we were in good hands and as nerve wrecked as we were, we knew it'd workout. ✨️ Facing the unknown. You miss a 100% of the shots you don't take and we weren't going to back out and NOT find out how we could do! ✨️ Opportunity. Yes, this was a super fun fundraiser BUT it was still a fundraiser nonetheless that went to a great cause. We did not want to miss out on the opportunity to not only support FFFC, but to partake in an experience with our community to strengthen our ties and support one another! Be rational of course, but don't let Fear make your decisions. Be brave to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the support you have, Fear of the unknown and don't miss opportunity! We want to ease the financial burden for women who may not have the resources to bury their mother in the attire they wish to see their mother in one last time. As a state representative for District 14 in Jacksonville, Florida, my goals will be aiming to alleviate the high cost of auto mechanic services and repairs, I will be implementing a multifaceted approach that addresses both immediate financial pressures on constituents and long-term sustainability in automotive care. Here are several strategies i will pursue: 1. Subsidized Vocational Training Programs Promote or expand vocational training programs in automotive repair at high schools and community colleges. Subsidizing these programs could make them more accessible, increasing the number of skilled mechanics and fostering competition, which could help lower costs. 2. Public-Private Partnerships Form partnerships with local automotive repair shops to offer discounted services to low-income residents or those in critical employment sectors. These partnerships could also include apprenticeship opportunities, combining learning with service provision. 3. Community Repair Workshops Support or initiate community-based workshops where volunteers and professionals teach car maintenance and repair skills. These workshops can empower residents to perform basic repairs themselves, reducing the demand on professional services. 4. Mobile Repair Units Invest in mobile repair units that can provide services in underserved areas. 5. Legislation for Fair Repair Practices Advocate for or sponsor legislation that supports the Right to Repair, ensuring that car manufacturers provide necessary manuals, tools, and parts to independent repair shops and car owners at fair prices. This can help reduce costs and increase competition. 6. Tax Incentives Offer tax incentives or rebates to repair shops and mechanics who provide services at reduced rates to low-income individuals or non-profit organizations. This can encourage more businesses to participate in community assistance programs. 7. Consumer Awareness Campaigns Launch awareness campaigns to educate constituents about their rights, available resources, and tips for vehicle maintenance and repair. Knowledge can help prevent costly repairs and encourage more competitive pricing in the market. 8. State-Funded Repair Assistance Programs Create or expand state-funded programs that offer financial assistance for necessary vehicle repairs to qualifying individuals, especially those for whom transportation is critical to employment. This could include grants, low-interest loans, or subsidies. 9. Regulatory Oversight Ensure that there’s adequate regulatory oversight on the pricing practices of auto repair shops to prevent price gouging. Establishing a state commission or task force to monitor and report on auto repair pricing can help protect consumers. 10. Encourage Alternative Transportation Develop and promote alternative transportation initiatives.
