Five common mistakes people make during their interview #1 short answers. Don't just say yes or no to a question that the manager asks. Go into detail. Pick an example from a previous position that maybe you did that skill set or experience that they're asking about #2 over explaining why you lost your previous job. You never want to get into too much detail. I know in the previous question that we talked about, we talked about not giving short answers. This is the only one that you do want to be short with. Tell the manager something very positive. You were ready to take the next step in your career. You've really been interested in working for that specific company #3 not showing enough interest in the interview. The manager can easily tell when you're not interested in the position. They can tell by your facial expressions. So if you're yawning, the manager will think that you're not engaged in the interview and they might cut the interview short. One really good tip to show the manager that you really are interested in the position is doing maybe even 5 minutes of research on the company. You can go on their website. Just check out there about me section and just know like what the company is all about #4 failing to ask questions during the interview. At the end of the interview, the manager will ask if you have any questions about the position you really want to prepare. At least two questions you want to ask the manager. You can ask about the company culture. You can ask a little bit more about the position. Maybe ask about the metrics for the role, what are the expectations. Don't ask anything about pay because that can be discussed at the time of the offer if you are offered.
