Today was a very exciting Monday for me, I started at Schneider Electric in the Global Marketing Internship program! I want to say a big thank you to Julia Galanek, who introduced me to the program and supported me through the interview experience. When we first spoke Julia shared her experience at Schneider with me and spoke so highly of the program it seems like fate that I’ve started my own journey here. Today is the third day in a row I've been into Objective Paradigm HQ and it's been AMAZING. I started at OP in July and can count on my hands how many times I've come into the office. This week I've been forced to, the heating in my Chicago apartment has been on the fritz and while I considered booking an AirBnB somewhere warmer and continuing to work from home - I realized there's a warm office for me right here. Working from home has its benefits and obviously, the last year has been a necessity but being in the office can't be beaten for me. Coming into the office gives separation to my home life. It's put me around other people who are doing the same thing and have the same goals. Being here has given me some extra energy and I can hear it when I'm talking to my candidates. It's also been warmer here than my home office. If you feel safe and have the opportunity to do I really recommend going in. Entering my 3rd week of work from home and it's safe to say my cats are ready for me to go back to the office! This has for sure been a challenge for me but I've stuck to a routine of getting up early, getting ready (and dressed), and "commuting" to my desk and now it feels half normal!
