How important is it to pick your partners that you choose to work with? We took one of our Pete's in for a basic service a few months ago at our preferred shop. Since we got it back, it has been running funny. We have taken it back to them 3 or 4 times to try to figure it out. They would hook up a computer to try to figure out the codes, but by time we would get the truck to them, the codes were gone and showed no record of ever having codes. After the 4th time, they recommended we take the truck to Pete. We had to take it to them 3 times and it would do the same thing. No history of any codes. Finally, after about 4 months, Pete was able to finally track down the issue. On the last service, the other shop had put in the wrong size air filter and it caused the engine to be dusted and would need an overhaul. A simple mistake, and about $50k later, the problem has finally been diagnosed and will take a couple weeks to be fixed.
