8 CR Rs have been allocated for planting 15000 + saplings by BMRCL. This can be done in 3-4 ways. 1. Plant in a row besides the roads 2. Create a green base with park along with birds and animals habitat 3. Plant near water basin areas such as ponds and streams 4. Restore hill area plantations First method may end up cutting trees in future. Second method seems to be BEST as an immediate solution. As phase 2 and Phase 3, second and third methods can be followed.

Our published paper (next post) shows deer in Tasmania significantly gather on the edge of native/planted forest and cleared land in Tasmania (inside and outside of that interface in an 800 m band). Separately, they are also creeping into remote native pastures. In fact recently Parks Tas conducted a cull in the Cradle Mountain NP. So the more clearing, the more ‘edge’, the more deer, the more risk. Now today I have been walking along walking tracks in forest thinning areas of Tasmania on my day off the aerial survey, and here I find deer scat. My question now is: does forest thinning in Tasmania promote deer? Pest CRC?

From 11,000’ elevation ⛰️mines to front range lowlands…..🌾 Rocky Mountain Reclamation has already placed over 250 acres of #native #wetland seeding this fall. These projects are wetland banks to assist DOTs and other state agencies offset wetland takes for development and roadways. Wetland seeding requires a lot of knowledge and experience. Why? 🌱Wetland seeds are not your normal seed. 🌱 Seed size! A common wetland species Torrey’s rush can have between 12,000,000 and 25,000,000 seeds per pound. If you plant the seed too deep, then it will never germinate. If you leave the tiny seed unprotected on the soil surface, then it will blow away. Once again…the importance of mulching and crimping!

8 Steps to establishing native grasses in your pasture Establishing a native grass pasture can be an intimidating process. 🌳 A good quality Arborist should be able to understand the tree growing below the ground as much as the tree standing above the ground. There are many modern ways in which a tree care professional can visit your Brisbane home and apply the necessary help your trees may need. How Soil Injection Works 💦 The soil injection unit uses a unique design to deliver particular water-soluble elements and chemicals directly to the root system of your plants. This is done under high water pressure and enables the plant’s roots to efficiently take up all the good stuff we are feeding them. When To Use Soil Injection 🪻This system can be used in a construction site in Brisbane to promote plant vigour during times of stress. It can also be applied to help promote health in sick trees in the urban environment. 📈Through accurate assessment we aim to diagnose the issues and remedy them with accurately applied mixtures. Trees that have been recently installed or transplanted can benefit from a soil injection. Transplant stress can be fatal for plants and the onset is usually very fast. A timely applied soil injection can reduce this from happening. 🦟 Pest infestation can also be treated by soil injection. Once we identify the pest we are able to apply the correct chemical to combat the infestation. The soil injection system is non-invasive and is not harmful to surrounding plants or animals and pets. 🏆 This system is a sustainable and proven technique and we have had great success across the field in Brisbane treating plants with a soil injection. Give the Team at Evergreen Tree Care a call today if you would like to know more! #brisbane #soilinjection #arborists #treesurgeons #rootsystems #enrichment

Some pragmatic tree hazard management here. The chair of the residents committee was more than happy to retain the habitat and let everyone know to avoid the area in bad weather. We’ll also provide a guided walk and talk for the residents to raise awareness of habitat potential in trees and the benefits of retaining trees with defects present. #treecare #tr33skills #arboriculture #consultancy #trees #habitat #pragmatic
