Ask yourself who was present when it happened? Was there possibly someone there that could have triggered something? What happened just before it happened? So who and what? Where did it happen? Were they seeing, hearing we're touching something that may be triggered something? When does it tend to occur? Is it something that happens often? You know, I'm assuming you all know what sundowning is. Have you heard that term sundowning? So basically if you have dementia, as the day progresses and the sun starts to go down, behaviors can become worse. So let's hold sundown. And so is it something that's maybe happening at a specific time of the day that could relate to that as well? What was your reaction to their behavior? Think about what you did that made me made it progress worse or if it was able to come down. As you're assessing, make sure that you're connecting with them. Approach them with respect. Treat them as if you how you would want to be treated. Come to them from the front, don't come from behind to the side, come down to their level. Know that vision could also be affected and they might not be able to see periphery, so make sure you're in front of them.
