The pothole plague is forever in the news, but it's a little-known fact, that 20% of potholes relate to sunken and failed ironwork seating. TWENTY percent. One fifth. 1 in 5. And all so avoidable. Snapshot from fork production - 12 pairs of forks for the lumber industry 🪵 VETTER developed customised fork solutions for one of the world's largest suppliers of wood-based material solutions. 12 different, partly roller-guided, large forks with a cross section of 150x70x2050 and a load capacity of 8,000 kg up to a cross section of 300x75x2050 with a load capacity of 16,000 kg. The customer's requirements quickly became clear: forks for the safe transport of timber products. Depending on the goods, handling must be gentle and the forks must slide easily between the loads. A thin, polished fork blade with a long bevelled edge was therefore a prerequisite. The green impact protection in the fork back also acts as a collision guard to prevent damage to sensitive surfaces. At the same time, the impact protection bridges the radius in the inner fork bend so that load rests evenly on the fork back.
